Q: Do you recommend a particular jpg size, resolution or colour depth for the album art?

A: For optimum quality the album art images should be 350 x 350 pixels. Colour depth is unimportant however I recomend using at least 16-bit colour for better quality.

Q: My album titles are not sorted alphabetically. How can I fix this?

A: You are probably using an older version of Jukebox Simulator and your MP3 files are stored on a FAT partition. Switch to NTFS or better still download the latest version of Jukebox Simulator which handles FAT partitions correctly.

Q: What spec machine do you recommend for use with Jukebox Simulator?

Jukebox Simulator should work on most hardware but for best results I recommend at least a 350mhz PII with 64MB of RAM and a 16-bit XGA display. (1024 x 768). Also you MUST have a soundcard otherwise Jukebox Simulator will not run.

Q: My screen can only run at a maximum resolution of 800 x 600. What can I do?

A: Unfortunately Jukebox Simulator is designed to run at a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 currently. A 800 x 600 version is planned, although currently I cannot offer you a timescale. If you need this let me know. The more requests I get the higher priority I will make it.

Q: I have a non-English OS and am experiencing some strange results displaying album/track names. What's wrong?

A: Since I don't have access to any non-English OS's and have very limited 2nd langauge skills I am unable to offer assistance with this. If you are running Jukebox Simulator on a dedicated machine I suggest you install an English OS for this machine.

Q: Can you add a feature where......?

A: I am always happy to receive requests and ideas... please voice your requirements in the new Discussion Forum.

Q: For the physical jukebox that you have built, how did you interface the buttons on the front with the actual PC?

A: I used a small hardware device call an I-Pac produced by Ultimarc. You can find a link to their website on the Links page.
